Job Summary
Manage and provide leadership to day-to-day operations of the Lipari Foods private fleet, overseeing newly hired driver training for routes and night shuttles. Coordinate ongoing skills and safety training, ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation, Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and fully investigate accidents and injuries. Direct hiring, termination, counseling, and rewards for staff while traveling to satellite depots for evaluations. Prioritize daily tasks, identify cost-savings, and implement equipment and maintenance solutions to reduce costs and improve service. Requires a valid CDL Class A license, minimum 2 years transportation management experience, and strong DOT compliance knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a combination of training and/or experience totaling at least 1 year
- Must have CDL Class A Driver's License
- Minimum of 2 years of transportation management experience
- A valid CDL Class A License
- Minimum of 1 year and 50,000 miles driving experience
- Strong knowledge of DOT, state, and local compliance guidelines
- Excellent knowledge of safety best practices in relation to a large, multi-state transportation network
- Strong leadership competencies
- Above average verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to manage details
- MS Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Ability to travel regionally as needed
