Job Summary
Conduct bulk chemical deliveries from the City of Industry shipping center using a diesel tanker vehicle across city, mountainous, and rural terrain. Perform pre-trip and periodic mechanical inspections to maintain vehicle safety and operability while adhering to DOT regulations and hazardous materials guidelines. Maintain driver's hours of service via Samsara or paper logbook, keep delivery maps current, and report field problems or safety hazards to sales and supervisors. Wear appropriate safety gear, recognize hazards, and communicate regularly with the team. Occasional overnight deliveries required within a 500-mile radius.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), no restrictions with HazMat & Tanker
- 3 years of commercial driving experience, compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations from the past 3 years
- Must be willing to travel up to 5 days per week, home on Weekends and Holidays
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to back and parallel park bulk tankers, straight trucks, semi-trucks and trailers into narrow passages through expensive industrial equipment
- Knowledge of equipment, compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials
