Job Summary
Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight (powdered cement) regionally, with home time on weekends. Responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, loading/unloading cargo (hazmat and temperature-sensitive freight as applicable), maintaining accurate DOT/FMCSA logs and bills of lading, planning routes to meet pickup/delivery windows, performing basic vehicle maintenance, and communicating with dispatch. Must be reliable, safety-focused, with strong time management and customer-facing communication; HazMat endorsement is preferred but not required. Compensation includes line-haul-based pay with starting at 25% of line haul, increasing to 28% after 90 days, with weekly earnings typically in the $1,500–$2,200 range, plus various driver-pay incentives and competitive benefits.
