Job Summary
Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight including hazmat/temperature-sensitive cargo; perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; load, secure, and inspect cargo; follow special handling procedures for hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight; maintain accurate HOS logs and all required DOT/FMCSA documentation; verify bills of lading, collect signatures/receipts, and ensure all paperwork is complete and correct; plan routes and schedules to meet pickup and delivery windows; perform basic vehicle maintenance; provide unload/load assistance; home weekly on most routes; strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and communication with customers and dispatch.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL — required
- HazMat endorsement preferred not required
- High School Diploma or GED
- TWIC card preferred not required
- Must pass and maintain all DOT/FMCSA physical requirements
