Job Summary
Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight regionally, including general and hazmat loads. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load and secure cargo, verify bills of lading, maintain HOS logs, and ensure DOT/FMCSA paperwork is complete. Plan routes to meet pickup and delivery windows, conduct basic vehicle maintenance, and communicate professionally with customers and dispatch. HazMat certification is provided by WMW; eligible roles include hourly work paid as straight time with various pay supplements such as detention, stop pay, and holiday pay. The role emphasizes reliability, safety-consciousness, time management, and teamwork on regional lanes with home time on weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- High School Diploma or GED
- HazMat endorsement preferred not required
- TWIC card preferred not required
- Must pass DOT/FMCSA physical requirements
- Able to plan routes and meet pickup/delivery windows
- Maintain DOT/FMCSA documentation
