Job Summary
Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, general commodities, and specialized cargo. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects. Load, secure, and inspect cargo including hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight. Maintain HOS logs and DOT/FMCSA paperwork. Verify bills of lading, collect signatures, and ensure paperwork is complete. Plan routes to meet pickup/delivery windows. Basic vehicle maintenance and trailer readiness. Requires strong time management, safety-conscious mindset, clear communication with customers and dispatch, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- HazMat endorsement preferred not required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass DOT/FMCSA physical requirements
