Job Summary
Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, general commodities, and specialized cargo. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects, accidents, or violations promptly. Load, secure, and inspect cargo; follow hazmat or temperature-sensitive handling procedures. Maintain accurate HOS logs and DOT/FMCSA documentation. Verify bills of lading, collect signatures, and ensure paperwork is complete. Plan routes to meet pickup/delivery windows. Perform basic vehicle maintenance; keep trailer clean and ready. Emphasize reliability, accountability, safety, time management, and clear communication with customers and dispatch.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- HazMat endorsement preferred not required
- High School Diploma or GED
- TWIC card preferred not required
- DOT/FMCSA physical requirements
- Ability to pass DOT/FMCSA
