Job Summary
Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, including hazmat or temperature-sensitive cargo, on OTR routes (400–500 miles from Wooster, OH) while performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, loading/inspecting cargo, maintaining accurate DOT/FMCSA logs, planning routes, and conducting basic vehicle maintenance. Maintain compliance with safety standards; verify bills of lading and obtain signatures; handle early/late window pickups with weekly home time and variable pay opportunities, plus bonuses. Strong emphasis on reliability, time management, clear communication with dispatch, and teamwork; HazMat loads are available and HazMat certification is provided by the company; full benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and paid vacation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- High School Diploma or GED
- HazMat endorsement preferred not required
- TWIC card preferred not required
- DOT/FMCSA physical requirements
- HOS logs familiarity
- BOLs and paperwork accuracy
