Job Summary
Commercial Class A Truck Driver role responsible for transporting products between farms, warehouses, drop yards, and customer distribution centers. Duties include operating assigned trucks per DOT/FMCSA rules, complying with traffic laws, on-time and damage-free pickups/deliveries, safely hooking/unhooking trailers, inspecting trucks for defects, securing cargo, using a pallet jack to load/unload, breaking down pallets as needed, completing all required paperwork and e-logs, maintaining professional communications with farm owners and customers, and maintaining licenses/certifications. Requires reading/writing in English, basic math for paperwork, HS diploma or equivalent, and DOT medical and drug screening compliance; 21+ years old; ability to drive up to 10 hours including night driving; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb to 4-6 feet for cab/trailer access. Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s license, Class A with necessary endorsement from your State of Residence
- Must have a clean motor vehicle record and possess two years of verifiable over-the-road experience
- Must meet all Federal and State requirements for certification including pre-employment alcohol and controlled substances screening and meet the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation
- Must possess the ability to read, write in English, perform mathematical calculations to accurately and legibly complete required paperwork to include freight bills, receipts, maintain e-logs, and read maps and road signs
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving for up to 10 hours, including night driving
- Must be able to spend time standing and walking on various surfaces
- Must be able to properly load, unload and secure cargo using pallet jack
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to safely climb to heights of 4-6 feet to enter/exit truck cabs and trailers
- Work Schedule & Hours: Shifts up to 8 - 12 hours per day, start/end times vary
- Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed
- Physical ability to operate and secure cargo
- Ability to read maps and road signs
