Job Summary
Operate a Class A commercial vehicle over long distances hauling general freight, including spot loads and live animals, while planning efficient routes to meet delivery schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain accurate logs, and coordinate with dispatch regarding loads, delays, and route updates. Ensure cargo remains secure and delivered in good condition while adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety standards. Manage time effectively during extended trips and coordinate with terminals for truck drop-off and home time transitions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A
- Minimum 2+ years of experience
- No felonies
- No DUI within the last 3 years
- Must be able to operate a Class A commercial vehicle over long distances (OTR)
- Must be able to transport general freight, including a mix of spot freight and live loads
- Must be able to plan and manage routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules
- Must be able to conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment
- Must be able to maintain accurate logs and comply with all DOT regulations
- Must be able to communicate effectively with dispatch regarding loads, delays, and route updates
- Must be able to ensure cargo is secure and delivered in good condition
- Must be able to adhere to company policies and safety standards at all times
- Must be able to manage time effectively during extended trips (4 weeks on the road)
- Must be able to coordinate with terminals for truck drop-off and home time transitions
- Must be available for 4 weeks on the road followed by 1 week home
- Must be able to reside in Florida, Southeast states, Texas, and future Denver markets
- Must be willing to have trucks returned to the Miami terminal and fly home for time off
- Must be willing to leave trucks at the Texas terminal if working in Texas
- Must be willing to route trucks to Texas or Miami before flying home if working in Denver
