Job Summary
Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs to transport equipment and materials for the pavement marking process. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensure cargo is properly secured, and maintain detailed driving and delivery logs. Load and unload materials by hand while following all Department of Transportation regulations. Maintain and service the vehicle as needed, including refueling and repairs, while adhering to a predetermined route. Work variable shifts and be willing to work out of the area for consecutive days, evenings, nights, or weeks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug test (FMCSA Clearinghouse)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Willingness to work out of the area (in-state) for consecutive days/evenings/nights/weeks when needed
- Willingness to work variable shifts/hours as needed based on job/crew need
Desired Qualifications
- Comfortable with local and inter-state long-haul transport
- Ability to drive a manual transmission strongly preferred (no restrictions)
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
- Map reading and route planning experience
- An innate sense of direction
- Self-starter who works well independently
- Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
- High level of composure and good stress management
- 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred but not required
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
