Job Summary
Transport waste from WMHS or customer locations to transfer or processing sites, managing assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Plan daily schedules by reviewing manifests, route sheets, and previous VCRs, then perform documented pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections before and after routes. Secure loads for highway operation, complete all required paperwork accurately, and communicate any issues or account problems to supervisors or dispatchers. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while reporting maintenance defects immediately. Work Monday through Friday starting at 5:00 AM with overtime as needed, earning $31.40 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of related experience driving vehicles from at least 5 tons
- completion of an accredited driving school
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or Class 1/A-Z license
- All CMV/CDL drivers must be able to obtain a medical card by a certified medical examiner
- May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
