Job Summary
Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring hours of service, and maintaining accurate logs. Transport freight across Virginia and Maryland on assigned routes, planning fuel stops and communicating proactively with the fleet manager regarding delays. Load and unload trailers using an electric pallet jack, representing the client professionally at customer locations and reporting mechanical issues promptly. Drivers average 1,300 miles per week on a five-day schedule with two consecutive days off, working day shifts starting at 07:00. Earnings average $1,671 per week, composed of cents-per-mile and load/stop pay. A valid CDL-A with three months of verifiable experience and a clean safety record are required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
- Meeting all Department of Transportation qualification requirements
- Holding a current DOT medical certification
- Acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Compliance with all federal testing requirements throughout employment
- Physical capability to perform freight handling including repeated lifting, climbing in and out of the trailer, and sustained activity across a full shift
- Hiring within 45 miles of Fredericksburg, VA
- Possession of a personal vehicle to commute to the facility daily
