Job Summary
Truck Driver responsible for safe, timely transportation of goods for Watco, typically hauling soda ash from Wood River, IL to Pevely, MO. Requires operating manual transmission trucks, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and federal/state regulations, delivering high-quality customer service, and maintaining a clean, well-functioning vehicle. Role involves teamwork with dispatch and customers, mentoring new personnel as needed, and following company policies. Schedule is Monday–Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with occasional overtime; starting pay is $22.00–$25.00 per hour depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- CDL-A with no restrictions (manual transmission experience required)
- High School or GED equivalent
- Must be able to obtain all required reporting, testing, and certifications for the position and location
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Operate manual transmission vehicles and adhere to safety/regulatory standards
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
- Mentoring/training of less experienced personnel
