Job Summary
Drive large commercial vehicles within the El Paso region for local deliveries and pickups, ensuring food reaches partner agencies safely and on time. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and obtain signatures to confirm all shipments. Communicate with dispatch regarding schedule changes, track working hours accurately, and use pallet jacks as needed. Operate under alternating week schedules totaling 10 working days per pay period, complying with all traffic laws and USDOT regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with clean driving record
- 10-year employment history verification
- Current DOT medical card
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass random drug testing
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
- Ability to understand, speak, and write basic English
- Familiarity with transportation-related terminology
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Skilled in operating and parking large commercial vehicles and completing long-haul routes, including evenings, weekends, and overnight driving when required
- Proficiency using GPS systems, map reading, and digital routing tools while remaining alert, focused, and safety-minded
- Self-motivated with strong customer service skills and excellent attention to detail and accuracy, even in fast-paced conditions
- Unquestionable character and works well in a team environment
