Job Summary
Drive a tractor-trailer to deliver and unload various products for Sysco customers while adhering to DOT regulations and safety protocols. Deliver product within assigned route schedules, verify deliveries with customer signatures, and collect payments where required. Unload goods by hand or cart, transport items down ramps or stairs, and lift products weighing up to 100 pounds. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete DOT logs, maintain vehicle and trailer sanitation, and report unsafe conditions immediately. Work weekends, holidays, and early morning shifts to meet customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 21+ years of age
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards
- 1-year commercial driving experience
- Pass employment testing
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years local food or beverage delivery experience preferred
- Pallet breakdown and hand cart delivery experience preferred
