Job Summary
Operate commercial trucks as a CDL-A local driver for Universal Logistics, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, loading and unloading cargo with proper securing, transporting goods to assigned destinations within scheduled timeframes, maintaining DOT logs, communicating with dispatch about delays or route changes, ensuring accurate delivery documentation (bills of lading, delivery receipts), following planned routes while adjusting for traffic or weather, providing excellent customer service at delivery sites, and keeping equipment clean while reporting needed repairs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Class A CDL
- 6 months of verifiable experience in the last year
- Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history
- No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
- No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
- Strong time management & communication skills
