Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport powdered cement and specialized cargo on local routes, performing pre- and post-trip inspections and reporting defects immediately. Load, secure, and inspect cargo while following hazmat procedures, then maintain accurate HOS logs and DOT documentation. Plan routes to meet pickup and delivery windows, verify bills of lading, and perform basic vehicle maintenance. Assist with unloading and handle trailer spotting as needed. Weekly pay ranges from $1,300 to $1,600, with additional compensation for detention, short haul loads, and breakdowns.
