Job Summary
Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport powdered cement and specialized cargo on local routes, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections while reporting defects or violations promptly. Load, secure, and inspect cargo following special handling procedures for hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight, then maintain accurate HOS logs and DOT/FMCSA documentation. Plan routes and schedules to meet pickup and delivery windows, verify bills of lading, and collect signatures. Perform basic vehicle maintenance including fluids and minor repairs, and keep the trailer clean. Earn weekly compensation ranging from $1,300 to $1,600 with additional pay for detention, short haul loads, and breakdowns.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must pass and maintain all DOT/FMCSA physical requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
