Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport powdered cement and specialized cargo on local routes, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reporting defects immediately. Load, secure, and inspect cargo while following hazmat handling procedures, and maintain accurate HOS logs and DOT documentation. Plan routes to meet pickup and delivery windows, verify bills of lading, and perform basic vehicle maintenance. Collect signatures, ensure paperwork is complete, and assist with unloading. This role offers an average weekly pay of $1,300–$1,600 with a 90-day increase to 28% of line haul, plus stop, detention, and breakdown pay.
