Job Summary
Operate CDL A hot shot trucks and trailers to transport tools, equipment, and construction supplies to active project sites. Secure loads using approved tie-down methods and perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and cargo. Verify load manifests and delivery tickets, then maintain accurate driver logs, mileage records, and inspection reports. Assist with loading and unloading activities while communicating status updates and delays to dispatch and project teams. Adhere to all Federal DOT regulations, state laws, and company safety policies. Maintain vehicle readiness through basic maintenance, cleanliness checks, and routine servicing. Support field operations by delivering critical materials in response to changing project priorities and delivery schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid, unrestricted Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Minimum of one (1) year of commercial driving experience
- Knowledge of load securement requirements and DOT compliance standards
- Ability to safely operate pickup trucks, gooseneck trailers, flatbed trailers, and related equipment
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 100%) based on project requirements
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with company standards
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass E-Verify
