Job Summary
Transport steel service center products and goods safely, adhering to all State and Federal Highway Rules and Regulations. Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, and load security to prevent shifting or damage, while protecting cargo from weather conditions. Inspect fleet equipment for good working order and cleanliness, utilizing new technology and innovative truck equipment. Prepare materials for unloading and supervise the process at destinations. Maintain a professional demeanor with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and law enforcement, reporting any accidents or problems immediately to the Traffic Manager. Complete the "Gearing Up" program, including online classes, a ride-along, field training, and check rides, before entering a three-month probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 21 years old
- Must have a CDL with proper endorsements
- Safe driving record
- Must pass DOT physical exam and drug test
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience driving Class A vehicles
- Demonstrated reliable work history
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
