Job Summary
Transport steel service center products and goods safely, adhering to all State and Federal Highway Rules and Regulations. Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, and load security to protect cargo from damage and shifting. Inspect fleet equipment for maintenance and cleanliness, utilizing new technology and innovative truck equipment. Maintain a professional demeanor with customers, supervisors, and law enforcement while reporting any incidents or accidents immediately. Prepare materials and supervise unloading at destinations, completing the "Gearing Up" program including online classes, ride-alongs, and field training if under two years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 21 years old
- Must have a CDL with proper endorsements
- Safe driving record
- Must pass DOT physical exam and drug test
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience driving Class A vehicles
