Job Summary
Transport steel service center products and goods safely, adhering to all State and Federal Highway Rules and Regulations. Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, and load security to prevent shifting or damage, while protecting cargo from weather conditions. Inspect fleet equipment for good working order and cleanliness, and employ safe driving practices at all times. Prepare materials for unloading and supervise the process at destinations. Immediately report any problems or accidents to the Traffic Manager and appropriate Law Enforcement Officials. Maintain a professional demeanor with customers, co-workers, and officials, and utilize new technology and innovative equipment. Hold a CDL with proper endorsements, a safe driving record, and at least 6 months of verifiable Class A experience. Complete the "Gearing Up" program, including online classes, a ride-along, and a 30-day field training period, before independent driving.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 21 years old
- Must have a CDL with proper endorsements
- Safe driving record
- Must pass DOT physical exam and drug test
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience driving Class A vehicles
