Job Summary
Conduct daily driver training instruction for commercial vehicle operators, ensuring compliance with program policy and curriculum guidelines. Maintain accurate student attendance and progress records while evaluating students using academic and skills tests. Coordinate instruction plans, manage classroom organization, and supervise student actions across all training phases. Serve as a role model regarding dress, conduct, and attitude, and relay instructional material recommendations to the supervisor. Maintain current Class A license and all required certifications, participate in staff meetings and professional growth activities, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required by the school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Current Class A license
- Must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings/weekends as required by responsibilities and school schedule
- Must be able to attend and participate in meetings/conferences as scheduled within the district, state, and other states
- Must meet all standards under FMCSR Part 391 – Qualifications of Drivers and Part 382 – Controlled substances and Alcohol Use & Testing
- Ability to routinely enter and exit vehicle requiring steps
- Ability to lifting, handling and carrying such articles as books, manuals, files, chains, binders and equipment utilized in the instruction of commercial vehicle operators, weighing 30 pounds
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
