Job Summary
Drive approximately 2,000 miles weekly in a Midwest regional route within a 350-450 mile radius of Chicago, operating modern 2023-2027 Peterbilt 579, Cascadia, Volvo, and International trucks. Manage night driving shifts while handling roughly 99% no-touch freight, adhering to a weekly 34-hour reset schedule to return home each week. Maintain a strong safety record by meeting strict accident and violation standards, including zero major violations and specific limits on preventable accidents and moving violations within the past three years.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months of verifiable CDL driving experience
- Valid CDL
- At least 21 years old
- Ability to meet company and insurance qualification requirements
- Ability to pass required MVR and PSP reviews
- Ability to meet the company's accident and violation standards
- No more than 3 preventable or chargeable accidents within the previous 3 years
- No more than 3 moving violations within a 3-year period
- No more than 20 points under the SMS Unsafe Driver Basic Violation Table
- No major violations within the previous 3 years
- No DUI within the previous 5 years
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to converse with the general public
- Ability to understand highway traffic signs and signals
- Ability to respond to official inquiries
- Ability to complete required reports and records
- Comfort with night driving
- Comfort with approximately 2,000 miles per week
