Job Summary
Operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) in compliance with DOT and company standards, pulling 53' reefer trailers to Smithfield plants, distribution centers, and customer locations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete DVIRs daily, and maintain accurate Hours of Service logs via ELD or paper. Transport loads according to dispatch instructions, ensuring proper load security and biosecurity compliance, while reporting accidents, citations, and equipment defects promptly. Participate in scheduled driver safety meetings, training programs, and weekly guarantee duties including trailer washouts, fueling, and maintenance reporting. Maintain assigned truck cleanliness and adhere to a minimum 5-day work schedule with shifts ranging from 12 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 1-year CDL Class A driving tractor trailer or reefer experience required
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 60 lbs
- Must be able to lift objects using mechanical assistance
