Job Summary
Transport grocery items to customers, convenience stores, and restaurants using a company vehicle with a lift gate, ramp, and hand truck. Maintain safe operation of commercial vehicles on public and private roadways while conducting deliveries and pickups with accurate accounting. Use walk boards, pallet jacks, and stay bars to move products, handling cash and checks entrusted by customers. Adhere to all DOT mandated regulations and defensive driving techniques. Work a full-time schedule of four days a week (Monday–Friday) with 10–14 hours per day, or S–F rotations, starting early morning or late evening.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of transportation principles and methods for transporting goods by commercial vehicle
- Ability to physically complete physical requirements of job
- Ability to drive commercial vehicles (semi-trucks and trailers up 53 feet, solo trucks, vans, etc.)
- Ability to use a hand truck
- Ability to use a pallet jack
- Ability to use walk boards
- Ability to use stay bars
- Ability to work well with other employees to foster a respectful and professional work environment
- Acceptable MVR record
- Class A CDL License required
- Current medical certificate card
- Permission for drug and alcohol screening results
Desired Qualifications
- One to three years commercial driving experience
- grocery distributing experience
