Job Summary
Drive a truck with a capacity of more than 25 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations. Review load boards and verify scheduled deliveries and pickups, then inspect the truck, equipment, and materials prior to use. Determine load readiness, make adjustments for safety and compliance, and properly secure loads. Deliver and pick up materials according to assigned routes while maintaining respectful interactions and ensuring accuracy in all work. Actively participate in Seaport Steel's safety program and manage time effectively to complete tasks timely.
Required Qualifications
- CDL Class A driver's license
- completed truck driving courses with a certificate of completion
- at least two-year related experiences and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract and read a tape measure
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- knowledge of EroadTM software or the willingness to learn
