Job Summary
Ensure shipment of temperature-controlled product, count goods at customer locations to maintain FIFO inventory levels, and drive vehicles to designated destinations while following set routes. Load and unload products, put items away per specifications, and manage driver apprentices or helpers. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain driving logs, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete all daily paperwork. Adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards while delivering products within deadlines. Work overnight shifts including Friday and Sunday nights, with a weekly salary of $1,600 and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Road test required prior to employment offer.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age
- minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years
- current drivers license
- current DOT medical card
- No CDL accidents in the last 36 months (3 years)
- No major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months
- No suspension related to driving performance in the last 36 months (3 years)
- Must be able to work overnight
- Must be able to work Friday and Sunday nights
- The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
- The ability to see well at night and drive in the dark
- Road test in a Food Authority truck prior to employment offer
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year prior Food Distribution Experience
- Prior experience delivering from a liftgate
- Minimum 1 year material handling equipment experience
- Prior experience working an overnight shift
