Job Summary
Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring hours of service, and maintaining accurate logs. Transport dry freight across Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the Washington DC area, following assigned routes and communicating proactively with dispatch regarding delays. Perform drop-and-hook deliveries with occasional unload assist at small-format stores, verifying load counts, seals, and paperwork while securing freight correctly. Represent the client professionally at customer locations, maintain equipment cleanliness, and report mechanical issues promptly. Home weekly for a 34-hour reset with 24/7 coverage including holidays, requiring both day and night shifts. Requires a valid CDL-A with 3 months experience and DOT medical certification.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
- Meeting all Department of Transportation qualification requirements
- Holding a current DOT medical certification
- Acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Compliance with all federal testing requirements throughout employment
- Hiring within 65 miles of Stuarts Draft, VA, plus MD, NJ, PA and WV
- Ability to work both day and night shifts
- Being legally authorized to work in the United States
