Job Summary
Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally, completing pre- and post-trip inspections, monitoring hours of service, and maintaining accurate logs per federal regulations. Transport dry van and refrigerated freight across California and Nevada, following assigned routes, planning fuel and rest stops, and communicating proactively with dispatch regarding weather, traffic, or delivery delays. Verify load counts, seals, and paperwork at pickup and delivery, secure freight correctly, and complete bills of lading and delivery documentation. Represent the client professionally at customer locations, maintain equipment cleanliness, and report mechanical issues promptly. Drive approximately 1,700 miles weekly with home time every week, starting shifts between 15:00 and 21:00. Prior refrigerated experience is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum of 4 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
- Meeting all Department of Transportation qualification requirements
- Holding a current DOT medical certification
- An acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Compliance with all federal testing requirements throughout employment
- Hiring within 200 miles of Shafter, CA
- Having their own transportation to work
