Job Summary

Supervise daily Cutting Die department operations by coordinating workflows, assigning tasks, and balancing workloads among Diemakers to meet production schedules. Provide hands-on leadership through coaching, training, and technical support while ensuring all cutting dies meet quality standards before shipping. Troubleshoot production issues, monitor performance, and assist with scheduling, inventory, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety compliance, and equipment care while performing Diemaker duties as needed. Report directly to the Production Manager to execute schedules and resolve bottlenecks.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience manufacturing cutting dies or related manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or lead operator experience
  • Thorough knowledge of cutting die manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop production employees
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple production demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of production scheduling and workflow management
  • Understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement principles
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and safe manufacturing practices
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD files, engineering drawings, and production documentation
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and ERP software
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of math fundamentals, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and caliper
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Strength and mobility to perform the duties described above, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and maintain manual dexterity while assisting with production
  • Lift up to 65 pounds safely
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or technical certification
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CAD files, automated die production equipment, and quality systems
