CCS Construction Manager

Job Summary
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in Tokyo, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and client expectations. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of civil engineers, process engineers, environmental specialists, and subcontractors to hit milestones on schedule and within budget. Develop detailed project schedules, track progress, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with local and international CCS regulations, including permitting, safety, and environmental standards. Oversee on-site construction activities with technical guidance, safety oversight, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and present regular status reports, cost forecasts, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders. Manage procurement, logistics, and resource allocation for injection wells, pipelines, storage sites, and related infrastructure. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost efficiency, sustainability, and innovative construction methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- 1st Class Civil Construction Management Engineer, Professional Engineer license highly preferred
- Fluent in Japanese (written and spoken); proficiency in English is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale underground construction projects (energy, oil & gas, or CCS sectors)
- Experience with cost control, schedule optimization, and risk management
- Flexibility towards frequent business trips, site visits and site relocation
