Job Summary
Conduct law enforcement activities for the assigned school District, enforcing state statutes, protecting life and property, and suppressing criminal activity. Prepare and complete accurate reports of crimes, vehicular accidents, and other incidents. Maintain assigned equipment, assist injured persons, and determine appropriate action within defined guidelines. Attend parent conferences regarding student violations and provide referrals for incidents outside jurisdiction. Communicate with community, staff, parents, and students to resolve conflicts. Maintain confidentiality of records and lift up to 50 pounds as required. Possess knowledge of Kentucky Administrative Regulations and interpersonal skills using tact and courtesy.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law supplemented by specialized course work in law enforcement
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
- POPS (Police Officer Professional Standards) Certification Required-please upload certificate
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
