Job Summary
Conduct direct instruction and oversee student lab and field work for the Marine Service Technology program, maintaining safety standards and accreditation compliance. Teach courses per published outlines, assess student proficiency, prepare grade reports, and develop assessment instruments and supplemental materials. Design curriculum, prepare online training content, and recommend teaching improvements. Manage lab resources by planning inventory, purchasing supplies, and performing basic equipment maintenance per OSHA standards. Interact professionally with students and advise on college matters. Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and multiple campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in the field or in CTE education with marine field experience
- Marine industry or military marine certification and two years of field experience
- ASE or ABYC certifications and two years of field experience
- Eight years of field experience in marine service
- Diesel, Automotive, or Marine License or Certification from a recognized Institution and an Associate, Bachelor's, or master's degree in Post-Secondary or CTE Education with 5-years minimum of field and teaching experience
- EPA609
- 10 years of minimum field experience
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication
- Demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom
- must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course
- Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekend, and on multiple campuses if needed
- Regular physical attendance
- Must demonstrate cultural competency to engage and work with a diverse student and employee population
- Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds
- Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
- Reach and grasp objects
