Job Summary
Teach HVAC R courses, manage lab activities, and prepare curriculum materials while maintaining accreditation standards. Deliver online training content and demonstrate conduit and non-destructive analysis procedures in a lab environment. Assess student proficiency, administer final examinations, and maintain records of course performance. Conduct basic equipment maintenance and manage hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA standards. Plan inventory needs and prepare specifications for purchasing supplies. Spend approximately 80% of time teaching and 20% on classroom administration. This grant-funded position requires bilingual English and Spanish skills and verifiable HVACR certification.
Required Qualifications
- A State or County HVACR Journeyman License (Verifiable if from another state)
- NCCER Minimum Level Two HVACR Certification or other related verifiable certification
- HVAC Excellence Certifications
- North American Technician Excellence Certifications
- EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Recovery Certification
- Four Years of verifiable experience working in the field
- Two years of verifiable experience as a teacher and/or trainer
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Bilingual English and Spanish written and spoken
- Ability to Interpret blueprint and related symbols
- Ability to Demonstrate and use the technology required for the assigned course
- Ability to Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Regular physical attendance
- Ability to Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds
- Ability to Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
- Ability to Reach and grasp objects
- Ability to Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to Stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to Use of video display terminal
- Ability to Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Ability to Communicate information orally and in writing
- Ability to Receive and understand information through oral and written communication
- Ability to Proofread and check documents for accuracy
- Ability to Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury
- Ability to Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions
- Ability to Work a fluctuating work schedule
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English and Spanish
