Job Summary
Provide peer support services focused on emerging adult and adolescent populations under general supervision. Deliver rehabilitative skills building, coordinate environmental supports and resources, and assist individuals in gaining access to necessary services. Engage in care coordination with other systems and internal providers for children, adolescents, and young adults. Share personal stories in safe and appropriate ways to promote recovery and functional improvement. Requires a mental health or substance use diagnosis, one year between diagnosis and application, and active management of personal care. Must be physically and emotionally fit to handle routine and crisis situations, with varying hours including travel to off-campus locations.
Required Qualifications
- 18-26 years of age (valid Georgia ID)
- Mental health (MH) condition, substance use disorder (SUD), or a co-occurring diagnosis
- Strong desire to identify themselves as a person living with a mental illness or substance use diagnosis
- Ability/willingness to actively seek and manage their own appropriate care
- Ability to share their own personal story in a safe and appropriate way
- Well grounded in recovery wellness
- One year between diagnosis and application to training (one year continuous abstinent from substance use if the individual has a substance use condition)
- High school diploma or GED
