Job Summary
The CBM Technician will serve as a Mechanical/Electrical data collector for Condition-Based Monitoring technologies (infrared thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, vibration) to support pellet operation facility uptime. Using CMMS and predictive methodologies, the role analyzes data, creates reports, and communicates priorities to plant personnel and managers. Responsibilities include data collection (50%), data analysis and report generation (30%), commissioning repairs (10%), maintaining databases (10%), and creating work requests/PMs as needed. Requires safety awareness, strong communication, basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as a team and with limited supervision. Training will be provided as required by the Supervisor and Enviva. Preferred qualifications include an Associate degree in a technical field, CMRT/CBM certifications, and experience with condition monitoring technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Technician with at least 4 years of job-related experience
- Two (2) - three (3) years manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated ability in using hand tools and power tools as required
- Mechanical knowledge base with equipment such as conveyors, fans, gear boxes, trunnions, and motors
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with condition monitoring and precision maintenance technologies (ultrasonic, laser alignment, infrared thermography, oil analysis, multi-channel vibration) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Team player; able to work with others
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision
- Willingness to complete training as required by Supervisor and specified by Enviva
- Preferred: Associate degree in technical field; CMRT certification or equivalent within 12 months; CBM Certifications (Vibration, Ultrasound, Infrared); willingness to work in outdoor industrial environments
