Job Summary
Support youth programs and activities including bush trips, arts, sports, and media initiatives across remote Central Australian communities. Engage young people, families, and Elders to assess needs while guiding access to rehabilitation, health, and educational services. Safeguard vulnerable individuals by reporting concerns in line with duty of care obligations and working with stakeholders such as police and clinics. Maintain CAYLUS assets and provide verbal updates to staff. This Aboriginal Identified casual role requires a current NT driver's license, Ochre card, and police check.
Required Qualifications
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Ability to follow procedures and work under supervision
- Interest and passion for working with young people and running youth programs and activities
- Willingness to support young people to access other services including rehab, health and mental health services, youth programs, school, youth justice, and other educational opportunities with guidance
- Current NT Drivers Licence
- NT Working with Children (Ochre) Card
- satisfactory Police Check
Desired Qualifications
- Indigenous language skills and ability to translate local languages and English
- Ability to travel to other communities from time to time
- Current First Aid Certificate, or ability and willingness to attain
