Job Summary
Lead and improve the cause prioritization process to identify emerging grantmaking areas, overseeing a portfolio of investigations in high-priority cause areas and building a research agenda for key uncertainties. Directly investigate complicated opportunities in new domains, including government prioritization and market-shaping interventions, while communicating externally to build networks across implementers, funders, and academia. Manage a sub-team within the New Areas team, supporting professional development and fostering an agile culture responsive to unusual opportunities. Your decisions inform the allocation of hundreds of millions of dollars to dozens of grantees.
Required Qualifications
- quantitatively-oriented advanced degrees
- substantial relevant experience using empirical tools to make rigorous, evidence-based decisions in the real world
- 5-10 years of post-grad work experience prior to joining GiveWell
