Job Summary
Provide high-quality customer support in adherence to agency principles of respect, trust, empathy, and accountability. Examine and approve all CAU amendment types, including Acknowledgements of Parentage, Transgender amendments, and court orders. Function as a case navigator by providing clear, detailed next step instructions and written guidance to customers with their amendment requests. Approve completed customer applications as a designated Deputy City Registrar and review financial reconciliation accounts from intake staff. Critically assess customer documents, identify issues, and follow up for resolution while resolving application problems using staff training and professional judgment. Test IT system fixes and report outcomes, create tickets for productivity-impacting issues, and manage security paper storage and reconciliation. Present complicated cases to peers at monthly case review meetings to identify best practices and ensure ongoing professional development. Support response activities across all types of possible incidents, including storms, pandemics, and other emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization
- Three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience
- Four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience
- Five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience
- One year of administrative or supervisory experience performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty
- Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 1/2 years
