Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate monthly with the Catholic Chaplain to arrange space and setup for Religious Formation programs, including First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, RCIA, Baptisms, and Vacation Bible School. Develop and submit an annual calendar of events, religious education curriculum orders, and fund budgets for approval. Oversee registrations, payments, and inquiries while maintaining family databases, class lists, and sacramental records for permanent files. Recruit, train, and manage volunteer teachers and substitutes, ensuring all personnel meet background check requirements. Organize class rooms and equipment, and liaise with the local diocese to review religious expectations monthly. Submit monthly invoices and manage purchase requests for program supplies.
Required Qualifications
- 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International
- at least one year as a catechist in a chapel or church setting
- Archdiocese of Military Services (AMS) catechist certified
- experience working with Catholic Children's programs including Sunday Religious Education (RE), sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist, and Children's Liturgy of the Word
- trained and have experience working in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process
- experience with recruiting and training catechists and other volunteers
- ability to type 40+ WPM
- working knowledge of Windows 10 operating system
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Microsoft Outlook [e-mail] communication)
- Knowledge and experience as an Administrative Assistant
- basic working knowledge of Chapel Tithes and Offering Fund (CTOF) and appropriated funds budget process and procedures
