Job Summary
Direct Mass music programs at Eglin AFB by leading choirs, directing rehearsals, and making selections for 0800 and 1100 services. Recruit and train volunteers, oversee special music during services, and ensure proper equipment setup and care before and after each event. Arrive 30 minutes prior to mass for warm-up sessions and coordinate with the Wing Chaplain and Catholic Priest. This part-time role requires a Bachelor's degree in music or four years of directing Catholic worship experience, with compensation based on budget and qualifications. Applicants must provide a resume, three references including a priest or pastor, and complete an audition prior to hiring.
Required Qualifications
- 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International
- Bachelor's degree in music
- minimum of four years' experience leading Catholic choirs
- directing Catholic worship music
- working knowledge of worship music used in Catholic worship settings
- ability to learn teach and direct new songs
- ability to read music
- ability to play music on the organ
- ability to play music on the piano
- ability to perform music or accompaniment on the organ
- ability to perform music or accompaniment on the piano
- background check
- compliance with Air Force standards and regulations
- three references from individuals who can attest to the candidate's good work and steadiness
- one priest or pastor reference who can attest to the candidate's abilities as they relate to this job posting
