Job Summary
Teach Biology and General Science in a classical, Catholic homeschool academy setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. Prepare lesson plans at home, implement structured curriculum, and manage a Socratic classroom on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:15 pm to 3:15 pm. Candidates must sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, attend three mandatory training days in August 2026, and pass a background check and RCA Safe Child training. Childcare and nursery are provided for staff. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, traditional views of the student/teacher relationship, and a deep commitment to living the Catholic faith daily.
Required Qualifications
- Applicant must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- Applicant must have a deep love for the Catholic faith
- Applicant must be willing to prepare for classes at home
- Applicant must follow and implement lesson plans
- Applicant must come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment
- Applicant must be willing to attend 3 days of training on August 10, 11, and 12, 2026
- Applicant must have a clear background check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children
- Ministry in a Catholic parish
- Teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes
- Teaching one's own children
- Teaching experience in a classical or private school
- Strong communication skills
- Good organization
- Timeliness
- A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship
- Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life
