Job Summary
Cath Lab Technologist in a high-volume Cardiac Catheterization Lab (CCL) setting at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. Under supervision, assist physicians in invasive/noninvasive cardiac, structural heart, and vascular procedures; prepare patients and sites aseptically; calibrate and operate complex digital fluoroscopic equipment; document procedures in the EHR; monitor hemodynamics and EKGs; coordinate patient care with physicians and maintain sterile technique; manage instrument prep, supplies, and inventory; participate in unit quality/continuous improvement measures; requires RCIS and/or ARRT credentials, BLS/ACLS, and dysrhythmia knowledge; on-the-job training for cardiac/vascular/EP/Pediatric procedures; diverse responsibilities across cath lab operations and billing/charge capture.
Required Qualifications
- Must be RCIS credentialed through Cardiovascular Credentialing International and/or RT through ARRT
- Must have BLS / ACLS certification
- Must have basic dysrhythmia course
- Work requires 6 to 12 months on-the-job training in electrocardiograph interpretation, aseptic techniques, and cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Desirable to have registry as an invasive Cardiovascular Specialist through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Two years education in an allied health science such as radiographic technology, nursing, or cardiopulmonary technology
