Job Summary
The Cath Lab Technician assists physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, operating specialized equipment such as fluoroscopy machines and IVUS, monitoring patients’ vital signs, preparing the lab and patients, documenting data, and ensuring safety and adherence to radiation and infection-control guidelines. The role supports post-procedural care, participates in quality-improvement activities, maintains equipment, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure efficient, high-standard cardiac care.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or cardiovascular diagnostic setting
- CVT - Cardiovascular Tech required or CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist required or RN - Registered Nurse licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of employment required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred
- Arkansas: Active and unencumbered Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or equivalent certification required.
