Job Summary
Maintains and operates equipment for cardiovascular procedures and supports the cardiovascular team. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures (angiography, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral interventions), verifies orders, and communicates with physicians. Trains and supervises new personnel, participates in quality/performance improvement, ensures regulatory compliance and safety, maintains accurate medical records, and responds to clinical emergencies. Requires knowledge of ECG/arrhythmia interpretation, cardiovascular and vascular anatomy, hemodynamic monitoring, and proficiency with monitoring equipment, documentation, and basic computer skills. Roles may involve administering contrast media and medications within scope, positioning patients, and adhering to radiation safety. Licensure/certification options include RN, RT, RCIS, RCES, CVIT, PARA, CST, or related cardiovascular credentials; BLS required and ACLS preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a health field (or equivalent)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- RN/RT/RCIS/RCES/CVIT/CAR/Paramaedic/CST certifications
- Experience in cardiovascular procedures or related field
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Knowledge of ECG and hemodynamic monitoring
- Ability to operate cardiovascular imaging equipment
- Ability to supervise and train staff
