Job Summary
Perform invasive radiology procedures ensuring compliance with radiation safety protocols, including patient preparation, contrast administration, positioning, and image quality verification. Enter and monitor patient data while conducting quality assurance on radiology equipment and reporting malfunctions or accidents to management. Take emergency calls as needed and mentor less experienced staff through precepting and competency development. Requires an ARRT-R certification, Texas Medical Board license, and BLS/ACLS; includes mandatory continuing education and skills competency.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
- Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
- Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions
