Job Summary

Perform prompt, courteous hemodynamic monitoring and accurate documentation of all cardiac, vascular, and radiological procedural hemodynamics and equipment usage. Assist with evaluation, preparation, and aftercare of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, interventional procedures, and EP testing while maintaining sterile work areas and setting up sterile tables. Monitor and record intra-cardiac pressures and electrocardiograph signals, providing immediate notification of changes to providers. Set up, prepare, and troubleshoot specific equipment including IABP, IVUS, radii pressure wires, and power injectors per physician instruction. Maintain inventory for cardiovascular imaging suites and ensure compliance with ALARA standards, infection control policies, and universal precautions. Collaborate with departments to assure timely service access and distribute testing results and patient charges according to protocol.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 year/Associate degree from an accredited Radiology Technologist program or satisfactory completion of formal Radiology Technologist training program in an AMA approved school
  • ARRT (R) within 180 days from date of hire
  • At least a NYS Temporary Permit
  • New York State Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire
  • Injection registered within 6 month of hire
  • ACLS required within 6 months from date of hire
  • Experienced Radiology Technologist with special procedure room or operating room experience
  • Broad knowledge of invasive & general cardiology, interventional radiology and peripheral vascular diagnostics and pathophysiology
  • Previous medical experience in acute care setting
  • Heavy work: exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs, of force constantly to move objects
  • Occasional: crouching, kneeling, stooping
  • Frequent: typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, talking
  • Constant: hearing, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking
  • Constant fit testing
  • Occasional: chemical
  • Frequent: bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, electrical, mechanical, radiation/radiant energy
  • Occasional: dust, fumes, gases, odors
  • Frequent: noise
  • Extensive: travel - you should expect to travel every week
